From November 12th to 16th, 2019, the “Belt and Road” scientific research project team，comprised of the School of Highway, Changan University and Sichuan Road and Bridge Construction Group Corporation, focusing on “Study on the Pavement Structure and Design Parameters of the Dhaka Ring Expressway in Bangladesh” went to Bangladesh Ministry of Transport to conduct scientific research and technical reports and communications.

Attending the meeting were the Chief Engineer, Esne Alam Hasan, and Deputy Chief Engineer of,Road and Highway Bureau (RHD), Ministry of Transport, Bangladesh, and the General Manager of the Dhaka Roundabout Expressway Project of the Ministry of Transport and Highway Bureau, Sertajur Rahman. The Chinese side attended the meeting was deputy chief engineer of Sichuan Road and Bridge Construction Group Corporation - Dong Wubin, a senior engineer of the Chinese chairman of "Dhaka Dhaka Ring Expressway Construction Company" - Xiao Zhiming, Chief Engineer of Sichuan Luqiao Design Branch Zhou Mingkai, Director of the General Engineering Office - Li Peng, and the research team from the School of Highway (Prof. ZHENG Nanxiang, Prof. YAN Xili, Prof. CHEN Yu and Dr. BI Jiefu)

The research team gave a report focusing on the research results of the "Research on the Pavement Structure and Design Parameters of the Dhaka Ring Expressway in Bangladesh" and the application of China's road and highway technical standards in Bangladesh projects. Leaders and experts of the Bangladesh Ministry of Transport expressed great interest and attention to the research of our research team. Experts from both sides have conducted a heated discussion on technical details. Later, the research team conducted a survey on the “Belt and Road” highway project under construction in Bangladesh.

Through this scientific and technological seminar, the Bangladesh transportation industry has deepened its understanding of China's road technology status, and the research team has further in-depth understanding of Bangladesh's road technology and environmental conditions, which has greatly support the China-Bangladesh transportation cooperation under the national “Belt and Road” initiative.
